Welcome to Lake Weston Elementary School

We at LWE are very excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to working with you to make our school an example of academic excellence.

Lake Weston Elementary provides instruction leading to proficiency of common core standards and uses best practices to develop comprehension, computation, critical thinking, and character in our family of learners.

Registration can be completed by simply filling out the form provided by clicking on enrollment under the “Parent Resources” page and submitting all paperwork at the front desk Monday – Thursday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm during our summer hours of operation.

Above all, we invite you to get involved—become a partner, serve on PTO and SAC committees, attend parent engagement events and activities and volunteer. The uniqueness of Lake Weston Elementary is that our parents and teachers are partners in every decision. This way, each of us can contribute in concrete ways to fulfilling the Lake Weston Elementary mission.

RIGOROUS COURSEWORK

Everything Lake Weston does is focused on nurturing the success of our students. There are many different academic paths that lead to the same end result – high student achievement. Lake Weston provides access to challenging classes and programs to help all students accelerate their academic performance toward meeting and exceeding standards. 

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

There are several classes and programs at Lake Weston that provide a challenging and stimulating environment for learning that enables students with talents and interests to gain extraordinary levels of knowledge and skills. These Specials include physical education, art, and music.

VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS

Every student at Lake Weston has an opportunity to develop his/her own innate creativity and learn to respect the artistic expressions of others. Students in OCPS are offered various opportunities to participate in quality, sequential, standards-based instruction in courses and programs related to visual and performing arts. 

ATHLETICS AND EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAMS

The purpose of athletics and extracurricular programs in every school in OCPS is to promote good sportsmanship, academic achievement, and athletic talent. Lake Weston believes that a dynamic program of student activities is vital to the educational development of every student.  Extracurricular activities include Recorder Club, A Gift for Music Violin Club, and more.
